That they live with the people, know the reality of the country, collect the requests of the people and guarantee the passage of the federal president’s truck when it travels through communities, has meant that some members climb to managerial positions where they access high salaries, regardless whether or not they comply with the profile.
According to a request for information, the Office of the Presidency of the Republic reported that it pays an average of 79 thousand pesos of gross monthly salary to five assistants, who hold an area address within the General Coordination of Politics and Government from which the General Directorate of Assistantship is derived.
Seven more are paid around 55 thousand pesos; while, to the remaining five between 39 thousand and 22 thousand pesos.
In a press conference this year, López Obrador assured that the passage of these young people through the Assistantship is a ladder that allows them to know the feelings of the people and apply their experiences in other assignments.
“They are young university students who are training (…) they spend time there, they go on tours, they know more about the reality of the country, they are being formed, they know the feelings of the people,” launched the head of the federal Executive.

Since 2018, at least six members of President López Obrador’s Assistantship have been able to climb to other positions with better salaries after “knowing the feelings of the people.”
Perhaps the most controversial is the case of Paloma Rachel Aguilar Correa and Javier Portugal Dorantes, who, after spending time with the federal president, were appointed to key positions in the public administration without having experience.
Paloma Rachel Aguilar was appointed as General Administrator of Resources and Services of the Tax Administration Service (SAT).
Ángel Javier Portugal Dorantes was appointed as central administrator of Taxpayer Services of the SAT.
“You know what matters most to me, more than experience? The honesty. In order to understand each other better, because there are those who have a lot of experience, they are even graduated from foreign universities, they have even doctorates, but they are dishonest, and what matters most to us is honesty, “said President López Obrador when defending the appointments .
Ángel Carrizales López was appointed in 2019, Executive Director of the Security, Energy and Environment Agency (ASEA) and with this he assumed a place in the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE).
It should be noted that due to his little experience in the sector, the Senate of the Republic rejected his appointment on five occasions.
“Ángel is a person with capacity, he is a professional, he is honest people who have all our confidence and it is my faculty to appoint him. He does have experience, he passed the Presidency test and it turns out that I have to appoint him, ”said the federal president.
Octavio Almada Palafox, who protected the president in numerous events where people gathered, managed to take over the ownership of the National Aquaculture and Fisheries Commission (Conapesca).
Diego Alberto Hernández Gutiérrez, was appointed coordinator of the Elisa Acuña scholarships for the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP), and recently as Secretary of Communication, Diffusion and Propaganda of Morena.
Abraham Vázquez Piceno is now the new Benito Juárez National Welfare Scholarship Coordinator.
