There is no doubt that both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X had an extremely successful debut, to the point that to date it is still almost impossible to find either of these two consoles in official distributors. AMD was also very surprised by the demand that exists for these platforms and promised to accelerate its production chain to meet that demand.
In an interview with VentureBeat, Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, said she was very happy with the reception that both consoles received and promised to adjust her chip manufacturing process so that Sony and Microsoft can produce more of these new consoles.
Apparently, AMD has already placed thousands of orders with TSMC, a company that also manufactures computer components. AMD is said to have ordered about 40,000 processors for the Series X/S and PS5, although the exact figure has not been broken down yet.
