Well, could we complain that this manga lasts a little longer?
My Hero Academia has just resolved one of the many problems that had been brewing in the Final Arc, All Might and the Group of Heroes’ final offensive against All For One and the League of Villains. Although it is only one of the many problems that Kohei Horikoshi still has to solve before the long-awaited end of the saga, but this change could resolve the numerous loose ends regarding his secondary villains that the fan community loves. The focus is definitely on the two All For Ones: both the original villain and Tomura Shigaraki himself, the heir and successor to his power. According to the most recent chapter of the manga, All Might’s plan contemplates separating each of the antagonists so that they have a chance to win. In this way, the end of his sleeve may last a couple more months or even years.
This strategy will allow Kohei Horikoshi to give each supporting villain the proper amount of time and focus they deserve to wrap up their personal stories., his bows, and even his ties to the protagonists of My Hero Academia. Of course, this is not All Might’s rationale within the story itself. All Might’s plot motives are based on separating All For One and Shigaraki because together they cannot be defeated, as well as each of the secondary villains (with a clear emphasis on Dabi, Endeavor’s son). As he lays out in his plan, this hero assumes that Dabi is serving as his vanguard, and since he can burn everything to ashes with his powerful quirk, being very close to All For One and Shigaraki would only end up complicating the situation for the heroes even more. Therefore, Dabi’s isolation is pertinent to the success of the mission. And since the logic is so sound, it makes sense to follow the same strategy for all the other surviving villains like Toga, Gigantomachia, etc.
Consequently, we will see in the following chapters of My Hero Academia how each of the hero factions will face a specific villain so that they can solve their loose ends. For example, Dabi is one of the most popular secondary villains in the Kohei Horikoshi community and owes his popularity largely to his background. Quite a while ago, it was revealed that this villain is the lost son of Endeavor, Japan’s number one hero, and brother of Shoto Todoroki., one of the most important students of the UA
The role of this villain in My Hero Academia is very important, as it was the peak point to put in check the society of heroes through his new “Symbol of Peace”, how could they trust in a world where heroes threw your family like nothing happened? His plan turned out to be quite effective as the hatred for Endeavor and the heroes skyrocketed from then on. It will be interesting to see how Endeavor and Shoto have to confront Dabi., both to heal old wounds and to solve their own personal problems.
The end of My Hero Academia
Another villain who will have her time under the spotlight in My Hero Academia is Himiko Toga, an antagonist who has strong ties with Deku and with Ochako Uraraka, a relationship that goes from admiration, to love and hatred, without scales. She has always had feelings for Deku and when she learned that she and Ochako could probably develop feelings, she wanted to be a part of that relationship (albeit not in the best way). Himiko became Ochako Uraraka many times using her quirk which allows her to adopt any other appearance with enough blood, this made Ochako very angry with her and denounce Himiko’s actions, as her actions had hurt her personally. Ochako’s reaction hurt the villain a lot, so a situation where she and Ochako face each other, maybe even with Deku, is quite necessary..
Although All Might’s strategy solves the dilemma mangaka Kohei Horikoshi set for himself, developing an impressive number of characters (even within by Shonen’s own standards), each upcoming battle wouldn’t feel so rushed if they didn’t have to happen at the last moment and one after the other, which is the most likely way they will happen. Which leads us to think that the end of My Hero Academia could be much further than what was initially promised, an outcome in 2022.
