“What was defined to be done with Adidas is that we make this race circuit towards the marathon, and that they tie with the marathon and half marathon calendar, so that it would be a journey in which runners and runners can start their training cycle from day one, and thus reach the marathon”, explained Javier Carvallo chinchilla, director of sporting events at Grupo Expansión.
Where do I sign up?
To be part of the 5,000 runners who will be part of the Adidas Splits, go to splitsadidas.mx to sign up for the remaining four races. The first, of 6 km, took place on May 1.
The following dates are: 9 km on June 5, 12 km on June 26, 16 km on June 17; then comes the CDMX Half Marathon on July 31 and, finally, the 30 km Split will take place on August 7.
Registration is 590 pesos for each race. “A fixed price was implemented from the 6k to the 30k distance,” explained Carvallo Chinchilla, who among his experience is having organized the Mexico City Marathon for the last five years, through the CDMX Sports Institute.
Registration closes two days before each race. In the case of the 9k, June 5, registration closes at 12:00 p.m. on June 3 so that runners can pick up their kits on Saturday, June 4, from 08:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Perisur, in front of the Palacio de Hierro entrance, explained the director of Grupo Expansión.
If there are places available on Saturday, June 4, people can register, but at a cost of 700 pesos.
“It is highly recommended that people do not trust themselves”, because there is a quota of 5,000 participants per race and the places are sold out a few days after opening the registration, Javier Carvallo recommended.
In the social networks of the event @ splitsadidas.mx there is information and updates of the races.
“What is sought is to provide a great experience for each and every runner who reaches that line and crosses the finish line” added Carvallo Chinchilla.
