Twentieth Century Fox has renewed the Alien Isolation IP for permanent use, as we can see on the Trademarkia portal. Very good news for fans of horror and IP, which became a success when it was released, at a time when the horror genre was not going through its best period. While this neither confirms nor denies that Alien Isolation 2 is in the works, it does signal 20th Century Fox’s interest in keeping the brand. Which is especially interesting right now, with titles like Resident Evil 4 Remake or Dead Space aiming to be a hit in 2023.
The Alien Isolation IP is renewed for “permanent use”, according to the Trademarkia portal:
6 survival horror from SEGA that we want to see come back
Alien Isolation hit the market in 2014 and puts us in the shoes of Amanda Ripley, daughter of the protagonist of the saga, who will try to discover what happened to her ship during the events that took place in Alien: The Eighth Passenger. To do so, Amanda travels to the Sevastopol space station, but she soon discovers that she is not alone and that the monster that devastated the Nostronome may not have been the only one of her kind.
Alien Isolation rose to fame both for offering a great horror title, at a time when the genre was in low hours, and for the screamers that went viral among the YouTube community. And there may be a sequel in the works because, as of March 8, 2021, 20th Century Fox updated and renewed the Alien Isolation IP. While we wait, remember that Alien Isolation is available on Xbox Game Pass.
