The Amazon Fire TV Stick happens to be one of the most popular alternatives when it comes to turning our television into a Smart TV in use. An inexpensive option that has tall competitors, some veterans like Google’s Chromecast and others preparing to hit the market like Xiaomi’s Mi TV Stick.
The small Amazon dongle offers access to almost all streaming video and audio platforms and through the corresponding applications, we can access a large number of functions, some of which are compatible with integrated Alexa voice control thanks to the remote control. Features that are now improving on platforms like Netflix.
Greater control with Alexa
And it is that the great rival of Prime Video sees how its application is optimized for the Amazon Fire TV Stick, so that its integration with the voice control of Alexa is improved. It is enough to have the Netflix app updated so that through the wizard we can perform searches or browse the catalog.
But Netflix is not the only one that benefits from an update that also reaches other platforms. This is the case of YouTube and Jio Cinema, which together with Netflix, now have control of the reproduction through voice commands.
Also together with Netflix, it will be possible to browse the content offered by Apple TV +, Sun NXT, MX Player TV and other less-known platforms such as Hotstar, Zee5, Voot, JioCinema, Eros, TVF Play or Viu.
To access Alexa from the Fire TV Stick remote control, just press the microphone button on the Fire TV Stick remote control. When we hear the signal, just give an order such as “Alexa, find comedies” within one of the applications or “Alexa, put Stranger Things on Netflix” or “Alexa, for playback”.
For now, it seems that the update is being staggered and the least in my case, I have done the tests and none of these functions is still available
