Airbnb has offered 20,000 Afghan refugees a place to stay for free, and is looking for hosts who use the accommodation app to rent their properties to join its offer.
“We feel a responsibility to step up,” said CEO Brian Chesky. The decision was undoubtedly encouraged by supporting the millions of Afghans who are leaving the country in the face of insecurity and violence, a situation that with the arrival of the Taliban regime worsened the migration situation.
