One of the largest public companies in Vietnam, VinBrain is the creator of DrAid, the only healthcare AI software for automated X-ray diagnosis in Southeast Asia, to be implemented in more than 100 hospitals in Vietnam, Myanmar, New Zealand and United States.
“Multimodal data is critical to delivering precision care that improves patient outcomes,” said Steven Truong, CEO of VinBrain. “Our medical imaging models, for example, can analyze chest X-rays and make automated observations on abnormal findings in a patient’s heart, lungs, and bones.”
Truong explained that if a medical imaging AI model reports that a patient’s scan shows lung consolidation, doctors could combine the X-ray analysis with a large language model that reads medical records to learn that the patient has fever, which would help clinicians more quickly determine a more specific diagnosis of pneumonia.
VinBrain, creator of DrAid, one of the first FDA-cleared healthcare AI platforms is used to detect features suggestive of collapsed lung on chest X-rays. DrAid’s AI has been trained on a dataset of more than 2.5 million images that is deployed in more than 100 hospitals in Vietnam, Myanmar, New Zealand, and the United States.
The software applies AI analysis to the medical images of more than 120,000 patients a month. Notably, VinBrain is also developing other AI applications, such as a telehealth product that analyzes lab test results, medical reports, and other electronic health records.
