Tanjirou Kamado
Tanjiro is the protagonist of Kimetsu no Yaiba. Driven by the thirst for revenge, he embarks on a journey together with his sister, Nezuko, to end all that demon that crosses his path, after the bloody massacre of his family. Since then, this Demon Slayer seeks a way to turn Nezuko into a human to end the nightmare. Kind and determined, Tanjiro will not touch his heart when making decisions against his worst enemies.
Nezuko Kamado
Nezuko Kamado, Tanjiro’s sister, is one of the youngest characters in the series, since when the events that changed the course of her family took place, she was only 12 years old. At that very moment, as a curse, she became a demon. However, a few chapters later, when Nezuko is 14 years old, she is physically the same as she was on that fateful day. Even her transition changed her personality, making her more daring than she was when she was human, but she hasn’t lost the sense of protecting her own. Thus, Tanjiro will have in her hands the possibility of finding a cure for her.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu Agatsuma is only slightly older than Tanjiro, however, he does not usually give the impression of bravery, since at the slightest attempt he usually wins. Although it seems impossible, Agatsuma is capable of handling a weapon, which he learned after studying with Jigoro Kuwajima. His bright yellow hair (after a lightning strike), light skin, and golden eyes give him a childlike aesthetic that fits his personality perfectly.
Hashibira Inosuke
Inosuke was raised by boars in her earliest childhood, something that is reflected in the way she dresses. Her origin causes her problems with tradition and customs, although little by little she is getting used to this rhythm, after belonging to the Demon Slayer Corps.
This warrior will always be ready to charge into battle. Even though she knows very well how to take care of herself, she tends to overestimate her own abilities, falling into boiling water after failure. She constantly looks for the challenge and believes that she is capable of defeating anyone.
Genya Shinazugawa
His tragic story makes him a memorable character. Genya witnessed the horrific murder of his brothers at the hands of a heartless mother. He also saw the only surviving brother, Sanemi, coldly kill his father. Although he is unable to use breathing techniques, Genya can fight with great skill as he possesses the talent of absorbing the abilities of demons. His introverted nature makes him the subject of speculation, however, he does eventually pick up social skills during the series.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
This character seems like someone who cannot be played with, because he has overtones of madness. The psychosis with which he often looks at others seems to be enough to destroy any enemy that comes his way. You only have to wonder how far he will go to deal damage.
Giyu Tomioka
Giyu is a veteran of the Demon Slayer Corps. Quite reserved and aloof, he is not one for many words and believes that others should follow his example. During his childhood, he was saved by his sister from a demon. Unfortunately, no one believed him and hence he became a very closed being.
Shinobu Kōcho
She gives the impression that Shinobu was the warmest, kindest, and most sympathetic member of the Demon Slayer Corps. She always smiles and shows a great sense of humor, but this is just a front to not show her hatred towards demons, after her sister, Kanae Kocho, was murdered.
In this sense, Shinobu can become ruthless with his sword and even with words. He is not afraid to face any warrior, no matter how strong he is. And he always does it behind a big smile.
Tengen Uzui
This character is not closely linked to demons, however, his story is very tragic. Born into a clan of ninjas, with the teachings of a cruel father, Tengen was educated to seek personal fulfillment, regardless of the consequences for others. After being tricked by his father into killing his brothers, Tengen set out on his own path.
Mitsuri Kanroji
This Demon Slayer has won the hearts of fans ever since her appearance. Even though she has been brief, she left a sort of legacy on the series, as she is quite an interesting and quirky character. During the battle, Mitsuri becomes something of an icon showing that punches can be seen as a spectacle.
Obanai Iguro
Obanai Iguro is the Serpent Hashira, something that should indicate the level of power that he holds. Not much is actually known about this character, since the series has presented him as a complete misery. His powers are also unknown, but the fact that he uses the serpent’s breath gives him a lot of potential to evolve within the plot.
Tokito Muichiro
Muichiro Tokito, the Hashira of the Mist, has a problem showing his emotions, so he gives off an air of disinterest. In fact, most of the time he is absorbed in thoughts of him. Thanks to this attitude we don’t know much about the character, but what we do know is that his personality is linked to a series of tragic events that left him without memories.
Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, hasn’t been given as much prominence in the anime as he’s mostly been a supporting character, so it’s likely that he’ll gain prominence in the next season once he hits the “Hashira training arc”. “. Gyomei is huge and strong, but don’t let his appearance deceive you, as he is extremely calm and cautious. He dedicates himself entirely to the Demon Slayer Corps, although, of course, this does not mean that he trusts his fellow officers enough.
Kyojuro Rengoku
Rengoku is one of the main characters that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train focused on, where he was always seen as quite energetic and charming. It could even be said that he is the more sincere character than the rest of the cast, although this optimism is only a mask to lure a false sense of security in others.
Aoi Kanzaki
Following the death of her family at the hands of demons, much like Tanjiro, Aoi found a way to channel this traumatic event into the Demon Slayer Corps. Although he is not noted for his fighting skills and stays away from combat to a certain extent, Aoi prefers to stay at the Mansion of Butterflies, where he takes care of other injured fighters. He helped Tanjiro and Zenitsu get rehabilitated, after that, he continued to train other members of the Demon Slayer Corps. So his mission is focused on helping others heal.
Tamayo
Since his first appearance in the Asakusa arc, Tamayo has his respective importance despite being a minor character. This demon is also a doctor and is between both worlds, using his powers for the protection and help of others. He exists beyond the influence beyond Muzan, to prove that demons can lead a life of good; likewise, he encourages Tanjiro to find a way to turn Nezuko into a human.
Updated September 29, 2022 by Mark Sammut: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has yet to announce its release date, so fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the Swordsman Village arc in all its glory. animated. In the meantime, you can rewatch the episodes and movie that have been released so far, a process that should be quite enjoyable given the high quality of the anime. As the anime is mostly known for its fluid action, the characters in Demon Slayer tend to get overshadowed by the animation and fight sequences; however, the series has a good cast of heroes and villains.
