Adrien Fourmaux did not have a good RACC Rally. At least that’s what can be deduced from a quick glance at the final result of the rally. The French rider was 16th, weighed down by a touch to a guardrail in one of the stages on Saturday, an incident in which he suffered a puncture. With everything, this result does not do justice to the good feelings that the pilot got of M-Sport, to the point that Fourmaux has been enthusiastic about the pace that the Ford Fiesta WRC had on the Spanish asphalt. In fact, Fourmaux considers that both he personally and the car showed a significant improvement on their seventh rally ‘together’.
In this line, Adrien fourmaux He assured days after the RACC Rally, once all the event data had been analyzed: “It is evident that this is not the result we could expect, but it does not all end there. We have speed and pace on asphalt, they have been there all weekend. In fact, in one of the stages on the last day we set a third best time. I can sense that this weekend there was a difference. I think it has to do with confidence and the ability to be in control at all times. There have been no tense moments and both the notes and the work of the ‘ouvriers’ has been really good».
With this in mind, Fourmaux wants to say goodbye to the Ford Fiesta WRC at the Monza Rally, the last event for a vehicle with which M-Sport has competed since 2017 and which has awarded the formation three titles of the WRC in two years: «I really want to go to Monza. It is fantastic to work with this team and this car. It is very nice to know that there is that speed in the car. I remember Monza from last year and there were some very nice mountain sections, somewhat similar to Spain. It’s different on the circuit, but I think we’re going to have a good pace. I’m going to take everything I’ve learned and use it at Monza.
