Adobe He launched the stable version of Premiere Pro with native support for Macs with an M1 processor. The beta of the renowned video editing software was available since the end of 2020, and its final version was expected. From now on, all users of computers with an Apple Silicon chip can take advantage of the performance improvements promised by the developers.
According to Adobe, Premiere Pro Runs nearly 80% faster on Mac M1s than those using Intel processors. Even while it was in beta, the company had already mentioned that it would offer a 50% higher speed when opening the program, and a 77% improvement for editing tasks.
Thus, Premiere Pro joins the list of Adobe applications that already offered native support for the M1 processor. In June it was the turn of Illustrator and InDesign, while previously the optimized versions of PhotoShop and Lightroom had been released.
Adobe Premiere Pro is now available with native support for the Mac M1
But version 15.4 of Adobe Premiere Pro does not come only with the novelty of being available to all users of the Mac M1. The software also incorporates other very interesting features. One of them is Speech to Text, or dictation to text.
As its name implies, this feature detects the voice in a clip and transcribes it, creating automatic captions that appear on the timeline. Users can later edit them, should they require corrections. Speech to Text uses machine learning through Adobe Sensei “to match the human speech rate.”
Dictation to text in Adobe Premiere Pro offers support for 13 languages, and it promises to dramatically reduce the time required to create subtitles. On the other hand, support for rendering of multiple frames in After Effects is also incorporated, although still in beta. Finally, Character Animator receives options to track body movements and to create puppets, also under development.
Those who wish to receive the definitive version of Adobe Premiere Pro with support for Macs with an M1 processor, must update through the Creative Cloud desktop app.
