Sometimes, it’s hard to discern between Apple rumors that may and may not be true. It is not a question of the rumor itself, but of its origin, after all, Apple has done many things over the years that months before its announcement it would have been difficult to believe. Rather, what matters is the source itself, or rather the intermediary, and it is that when various successes endorse you, it is difficult not to think about the possibility that the most incredible information could be true.
This is one of the cases in which we simply do not know very well what to think. Jon Prosser recently shared with Cult of Mac a new “pearl” about Apple’s RA glasses, or “Apple Glass.” After the bombing a few days ago, which we are still trying to process, he added that those from Cupertino could be working on a special edition based on the glasses worn by Steve Jobs, a kind of “Steve Jobs Heritage Edition”, similar to the Apple Watch Series 0 Edition.
For those who do not remember them, Steve Jobs carried with him glasses similar to those of John Lennon, with circular lenses, on a minimal frame. Thus, and after having seen products such as Google Glass or Microsoft HoloLens, it is difficult to imagine something like this with a similar technology to which Prosser has been referring, at least for now. And this thought has been reinforced precisely by another well-known reporter, Mark Gurman, who indicates that it is “pure fiction”.
For now, and as we commented at the beginning, it is difficult to know if Apple may or may not be able to achieve something like this. No one but the employees of the company itself who work on this project know the level of technology they operate. And even they, from what we know of Apple’s culture, wouldn’t know everything. Thus, we can only keep waiting for a future announcement. Of course, personally I would recommend that you keep expectations low, because it certainly does not seem like Apple.
