Rafael Leao made the San Siro explode with joy for the first time to open the scoring in the 57th minute. The Portuguese international striker, launched by Junior Messias, won his duel with the Dutch Teun Koopmeiners to beat the Argentine goalkeeper Juan Musso with a shot between the legs. It was Leao’s 11th goal in Serie A this season.
The second local goal came from a great action by French left-back Théo Hernandez who, starting almost from his own area, left several rivals behind before taking a low cross shot with his left foot to beat Musso (75).
The first half was quite even, with a good action by the ‘Dea’: a superb shot by Colombian Luis Muriel from outside the area, stopped by Mike Maignan (31).
Another notable action, shortly before the break: the Bergamo team’s Albanian center back, Berat Djimsiti, seemed to knock down striker Olivier Giroud at the entrance to the boxbut the referee Daniele Orsato did not call a foul and even admonished the French striker, who claimed a penalty (43).
In the final part of the game, when Milan was winning 2-0, without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, on the substitutes’ bench, Atalanta’s Colombian striker Duván Zapata, who had jumped onto the pitch from the bench, took the breath away from the local public with a shot (61) and a header (71) that narrowly missed.
In case of equality at the end of the season, AC Milan will be proclaimed champion by virtue of the particular goal differenceafter a 1-1 and a 2-1 victory against Inter.
On the last date, next Sunday, Inter will host Sampdoria and Milan will visit Sassuolo.
