Your personal brand, a summary or an idea? Paradise, past, present or future? If this were a verb, in what tense do we conjugate it? Naturally, discovering our purpose is associated with a goal or a peak of a journey, therefore, it is assumed to be in the future. There are plenty of examples and illustrations in this regard, these cardinal maps guide the efforts towards that objective, whether they are going up, down or rotating, the idea is to culminate.
The first dream of my childhood had to do with a road and a tie: being a bus driver in Mexico. Entering adolescence, he imagined being a sportswriter and imitating Don Fernando Marcos and his four words; At the age of 13 I had no doubt, I would be a professional footballer, I just had to decide which team I would do it for first before my debut cream blue. High school, university, work and many other things related to growing up (in age) arrived little by little football from my conscious side (assuming it exists), I even became convinced of the ingratitude of this discipline. It took me almost no time to assume myself as “anti-soccer”, becoming a (cafeteria) critic, listing the “n” things for which soccer turns out to be unfeasible as a fan.
Yesterday, November 30, I was at Cinépolis with “extra cheese nachos” in hand, I decided to watch the game in total concentration, rejecting any other option of place and company. A selfish and somewhat hypocritical act, watching the game where no one knows me and being a twelve-year-old again, insinuating to know everything. That’s right, I dreamed of winning again and by a landslide, I built at least 5 scenarios for the game. I screamed, pursed my lips, clenched my hands, ran my fingers through what was left of my hair on several occasions, got up from my seat without looking at my neighbors in the seats, felt once again that no one understands the greatness of soccer like I do.
Perhaps, this undertaking in the search for meaning should only exist in the future tense, and dying in the attempt to achieve it is the right trip. I hope to be one of the few who discover the eureka in his rearview mirror.
