As part of the advances in the construction of the Mayan Train, Mara Lezema Espinosa, governor of Quintana Roo, announced that ‘Maya Well-being Markets’ would be placed around the railway project to boost the local economy.
In a morning press conference, issued from the National Palace, the official pointed out that artisans, producers, embroiderers and other people who are dedicated to the creation of their own articles, would benefit from this proposal that at the same time aims to encourage tourism.

The ‘Maya Well-being Market’ model is a cultural and commercial program that will be located at bus stops or stations in the region through which the railway project will pass once it is completed.
