Huawei also wants to gain a foothold in the premium range and battle against the most powerful smartphones from Samsung and Xiaomi. The company has announced in China the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro, its two new flagships that arrive with a renewed design and a camera whose strong point is the telephoto sensor, capable of taking pictures with a zoom of up to 200x. Both smartphones also arrive with a Qualcomm processor, an OLED screen and other interesting features.
Interestingly, the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro are two very similar smartphones. In fact, they include practically the same aspect, which stands out for its back with a glossy finish and which includes a new photographic module where the primary sensor takes center stage. Both mobiles also have a 6.78 inch screen; in both cases with OLED technology, a resolution of 1220 x 2700 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
On the other hand, both the Huawei P60 and the Huawei P60 Pro include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ processor first generation without support for 5G networks. In the base model, the SoC is accompanied with three internal storage configurations: 128, 256 or 512 GB. In the Pro version, instead, only two variants are available; 256 and 512 GB. The new high-end Huawei also share a battery, with 4,815mAh each. They differ, yes, in fast charging. The Huawei P60 supports 66W power, while the Huawei P60 Pro can charge at 88W. Wireless charging, yes, is the same in both cases: 55W.
Three cameras with a clear protagonist: the telephoto sensor
Where we begin to see important differences is in the photographic section. Both the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro feature a triple-lens setup, and both models actually have the same wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle cameras. The primary is a 48-megapixel RYYB (and not RGB) sensor. The secondary one, dedicated to ultra-wide-angle photography, It has a resolution of 13 megapixels.
The telephoto sensor, yes, is more powerful in the Huawei P60 Pro. Here we find a 48-megapixel periscope camera capable of taking pictures with a 3.5X optical zoom and with a digital zoom of up to 200x; a considerably greater range compared to the rest of the smartphones of its competition. Furthermore, and thanks to Huawei XD FusionProa computational processor dedicated to cameras, it is possible to use this lens to take photos in night mode or even to capture macro images.
On the other hand, the Huawei P60 has a 12-megapixel resolution telephoto sensor, capable of taking pictures with a 5x optical zoom. His maximum range, yes, is somewhat less than that of his older brother; with 100x in digital format.
