After being chosen to be part of the Spanish team in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the entry of Paris Saint-Germain striker Pablo Sarabia into MetaSoccer, the managerial soccer game with blockchain technology, was announced. This was reported by Metasoccer for Cointelegraph in Spanish.
The player joins the group of official game licenses alongside former Brazilian player Ronaldinho, Argentinian Aston Villa goalkeeper Dibu Martínez and Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajalamong others recently announced.
These players are part of an exclusive collection of in-game assets called “ICONS”, dedicated to international soccer stars. Being created with blockchain technology, users have full ownership of the player in the metaverse, being able to sell them to other users of the game.
These agreements with top-level footballers aim to offer a different gaming experience, a fun and more attractive form of entertainment even for young users. In fact, more and more footballers are betting on the digitization of entertainment, as in this case, thanks to the metaverse and blockchain technology.
Pablo Sarabia stated that this agreement makes him emotional as it takes him back to his childhood: “I remember playing manager games late into the night with my friends when we were younger. I am especially excited to be part of this project and to have my own player in a game like MetaSoccer, which I have been following closely for several years.”.
The collection of the player Pablo Sarabia within the game consists of 100 units and will be divided into four categories according to the player’s soccer stages. “Young”, this is what the first category is called, when Sarabia was still 18 years old and was growing as a player. The second block has been classified as “Mid”, referring to the player when he was 24 years old and went through Getafe CF and then Sevilla FC The third set, “Prime”, focuses on some of his best times with 28 years old when he was already consolidated in Sevilla. And the last category is called “Immortal”, in which the game character will not age in the metaverse.
