It’s clear that Ubisoft has big plans for The Division as a franchise, so it seems like a Battle Royale of The Division would be being developed as an independent game. The Division 2 is really flexible to be able to branch out into multiple areas for the company. The Division 2 is, of course, still getting content, while Ubisoft also has the free-to-play title The Division Heartland and the mobile game The Division Resurgence in the works.
But it turns out there could be even more in development that Ubisoft hasn’t talked about yet. Journalist Jeff Grubb recently said during an episode of his Game Mess Decides podcast that a The Division battle royale would be in development as a standalone game by Ubisoft. Apparently, the game was in the works for a long time, but was canceled last year due to negative responses from testers. You may check out The Division Resurgence.
Battle Royale of The Division would be being developed
However, after the closure of Hyper Scape, Ubisoft reportedly decided to bring the game back as they really want a successful battle royale game. According to Grub, Ubisoft is tweaking battle royale title The Division, which will also have some roguelite elements. As things stand right now, the aforementioned The Division Heartland is expected to release sometime before April 2023, though considering all of Ubisoft’s recent delays and cancellations, it’s hard to be too sure about the plans.
The Division: Resurgence First Trailer Revealed
On September 10, a Ubisoft Forward event will be held in which, among other things, the company will talk about the assassin’s creed future. Perhaps there we will finally know Battle Royale of The Division would be being developed or not.
