The presentation of iOS 15 WWDC marked the imminent arrival of major changes in the complexity of Apple’s iPhone mobile operating system software. The company introduced an impressive number of changes in iOS 15 such as improvements to Safari, new FaceTime functions, spatial audio, concentration modes, SharePlay, Live Text and a long etcetera.
But some of the novelties of iOS 15 went unnoticed due to the large number of functions that make up the new version of software. That is why in this article we are going to take care of remembering all those iOS 15 features that you overlooked during the presentation of the software.
Currently, both iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are in their beta phase. The first software versions of these systems still contain many bugs and stability problems, but if you want to try some of the new features, we invite you to take a look at this tutorial to download and install the beta version of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 on your iPhone and on your iPad.
The most exciting news in iOS 15 that Apple did not tell you
As we mentioned previously, the presentation of iOS 15 was full of so many surprises that some of the functions of the operating system went unnoticed. On the other hand, some of the features that we will talk about below were not even mentioned. These are all the coolest secrets in iOS 15.
1. Text selection improvements
Older iOS users will recall that the text selection system had a mini magnifying glass that allowed better positioning of the cursor between the characters. For whatever reason, Apple decided to replace the magnifying glass in iOS 14 to make some changes to text selection.
However, with iOS 15 we have seen the return of this fabulous feature. According to Apple, users will now be able to select exactly the text they want with an improved cursor that magnifies the text they see.
2. Improvements in Apple Maps functions
From BGR They tell us that one of the novelties of iOS 15 that they overlooked during the presentation was an improvement in the application of maps of the signature of the logo of the bitten apple.
Apple Maps has changed a lot over the last few years, so much so that little by little it is getting closer to Google Maps, especially in one category: planning options. With iOS 15, Apple Maps users will be able to request directions while specifying a specific arrival time at their destination.
3. Move and drag files between applications
The functionality to move and drag files between two applications has been around for a while in iPadOS software, but has never landed on iOS until now. And it’s a really useful and fun feature to use.
From now on, iOS 15 will allow sharing images and files between two applications simply holding your finger on a file and sliding it to another application. As an iOS 15 user, you’ll be able to move an image from Photos to Mail, a link from Safari to Messages, a document from Pages to Files, and much more.
The procedure for using this functionality is quite intuitive, in this video you will see how to use “drag and drop” in iOS 15:

4. What’s new in iCloud backups
The benefits of iCloud cloud storage services have been delighting users for many years. But with iOS 15 now iCloud will be even better.
From now on, users will have more facilities to update their operating system software, and all thanks to iCloud. The new version of iOS 15 will offer the possibility of temporarily increase the amount of storage in the iCloud cloud when transferring data between one device and another. That is, when it comes to syncing data from an old iPhone to a new one.
Apple will guarantee “as much storage space as you need” to complete a temporary backup absolutely free and for a period of time of three weeks.
5. A new shortcut for updating pages in Safari
Apple has introduced a new touch gesture that all iOS and iPadOS users are very familiar with. It is about the gesture of swipe down to update content.
Now this gesture can be used on any Safari web page to update the content and it will always be available.
6. Adjust the text size in each application
Have you ever changed the size of the system text and regretted doing it when using a particular application? Well with iOS 15 this will not happen to you again.
For the first time in the history of iPhone mobile software, iOS 15 users will have the wonderful ability to adjust text size individually in each application. For example, use small font in Safari and use a larger font in WhatsApp.
7. Weather notifications
Another feature that went largely unnoticed during Apple’s WWDC developer conference is related to the iOS 15 Weather app.
Starting with the new iOS 15 update, your iPhone’s native weather application will begin to offer you a new type of notifications in which It will tell you if it is going to snow, if it is going to rain or if it is going to hail. A very good reason to activate Weather notifications.
8. Greater security on lost iPhones
If unfortunately you lose your iPhone and you have the iOS 15 version installed, the system will show a message on the welcome screen indicating that the device is locked, can be found and that it belongs to you.
In fact, now you can keep finding the location of the device even if it is formatted. This way, Apple will make sure that no one wants to steal an iPhone. Without a doubt, this is one of the top security features of iOS in many years.
These are some of the most notable functions that were not mentioned by Apple or that simply went a little more unnoticed than other more popular functions such as Live Text, a function that allows you to extract text from images in a matter of a couple of seconds.
