The baby really enjoys his bath, but the pool is a new experience, there is more water and it is colder. Here it is advisable to exercise caution. Follow these tips to make your first dip a great experience.
7 TIPS FOR YOUR BABY’S FIRST DIP
- It’s the moment?
Did your pediatrician recommend that it is healthy to put him in a pool? Follow their recommendations, each little one is different and perhaps your child requires other care. - Protect it from the sun
Even if the day is cloudy, the first thing you should do is put your baby’s sunscreen at least SPF 70, take care of all parts of their body, especially face ears, neck, feet. - The right water
Before you submerge it in the pool, make sure the water is at the right temperature. Never put it in cold or too hot water like in a jacuzzi. - Help him lose his fear
For no reason (even if your son is over 12 years old) leave him alone in the pool and hug him. Do not let go as your security will give you confidence. - Make it feel safe
It depends on you that your child has a phobia or taste of water. Give him security with your arms, talk to him gently, explain what is happening and if possible, play with him. - Play and seize the moment!
Ask your partner or a trusted person to take photos of them as these memories will be memorable and you will want to print them to decorate your room with them. - Avoid cold weather
Immediately after taking your baby out of the water, have a towel and blanket ready, change it as quickly as possible and remove wet clothes. Before he falls asleep, bathe him in warm water and give him a fever medicine.
If this is the first time you are in a pool, you could get a fever, take that into account.
