More difficult corners to clean at home
In all homes there are certain areas that tend to accumulate dirt, but that difficult to reach when grooming. However, they should not be neglected for this reason.
In this regard, we will share some tricks that will make it easier for you to reach those most difficult to clean corners.
1. Grids
In the house you can find multiple objects with grids. The most common are heating radiators and air conditioners.
It is important to clean them because there are currents of air that can spread dirt and, on some occasions, generate a bad smell in the house. To remove grime from the grates, you should take a cloth and moisten it with soap and water or cleaner.
Afterwards, you should wrap a knife or toothpick with this cloth that allows you to easily access the dirty area.
2. Under the bed
If we look under the bed we can get a big surprise, which will not always be pleasant. It is one of the areas where more dirt accumulates.
What’s more, it is very difficult to sweep the broom or vacuum there. When you have lightweight bedroom furniture, it’s easy to move it around once in a while for a deep cleaning. However, when the bed is very heavy, this mission is almost impossible.
If you have a robotic vacuum cleaner, you simply have to allow it to pass under the bed and it will remove the gunk. If not, the best thing you can do is wrap a damp cloth around the broom and then pass it under the bed, cleaning the floor, not sweeping it.
3. The computer keys
You will be surprised how dirty the computer keys can be! However, as it is a delicate area, it can be dangerous to use products on it.
A simple trick is flip the keyboard over and tap it to the back. You will see how a lot of dirt comes off.
In addition, there are brushes that are manufactured to clean between the keys. However, if you don’t have one of them, you can also use a piece of paper and fold it.
4. Window frames and sliding doors
Door and window frames are one of the most difficult corners to clean. A lot of dirt usually accumulates there, but it is almost impossible to sweep or wipe them.
What’s more, vacuum cleaners usually have very large nozzles to vacuum these areas. For that reason, there is a creative trick to creating nozzles that fit these areas.
You will only need the cardboard of a roll of paper. With your hands you should mold one end according to the size of the space you want to vacuum. At the other end you just have to put it through the common nozzle.
5. Venetian blinds
Venetian blinds collect a lot of dust. However, they are difficult to clean because they are delicate and it is tedious to take each of the slats to remove the dust.
An excellent trick is to take some grill tongs and wrap a damp cloth around each end. Afterwards, you can pass them through each plank, removing the dust quickly and effectively.
6. The oven and the range hood
Since greasy foods are prepared in the kitchen, it is common for everything to accumulate a layer of sticky dirt over time. Because it is an oily substance, you will see that that dirt does not remove well with water.
You can use a grease remover, kitchen soap, or alcohol to remove the grease from the hood. Remember that they usually have removable filters that can be washed separately.
In the case of the oven, because it is in contact with food, it is best to use a natural mixture that includes baking soda, lemon and vinegar. These are substances with antibacterial and degreasing properties.
7. Nooks in the showers
Nooks in the shower are often filled with soap, rust, moisture, lime and fungus over time. Therefore, it is important to put a liquid on them that helps remove dirt before it begins to adhere and is more difficult to remove.
As with the oven, a great recipe is to use lemon and baking soda. If the space is very small, You can help yourself with a swab to clean.
Why not overlook these corners?
A guide of the Ministry of Health of the Government of Chile points out that at home there may be a high risk of transmitting infections. There are microorganisms that survive for several months.
In this sense, allowing dirt to accumulate in the corners of the house can become a breeding ground for microorganisms that are harmful to human health.
A dusty place can be the ideal place for mites to thrive. Similarly, in wet and dirty areas pathogenic fungi may occur.
Although there are household appliances and furniture that are too heavy to move during routine cleaning, it is important that movements of these furniture are made at least 2 times a year to clean underneath. In these spaces, a lot of dirt usually accumulates that goes unnoticed.
