Among the basic benefits of samsung smart tv We have had the Samsung TV Plus service for a few years, a free entertainment platform accessible directly from the menu of the main interface of some of its most modern televisions and which offers access to certain TV channels and programs generic entertainment.
In 2020 the manufacturer announced the progressive expansion of its content catalog in seven European countries, including Spain, offering a greater access to series, movies and general programming as well as a major redesign of the user interface, now more accessible and pleasant to use.
This 2021 Samsung has been gradually expanding the offer available in Spain with the incorporation of several cinema channels a few months ago and now it will do so with a new deal with BBC Studios, through a partnership to launch seven free TV channels on Samsung TV Plus Europe, of which it appears that only two will initially arrive in Spain.
Specifically, one is “BBC Drama”, focused on fiction and historical drama content that will initially offer 15 film titles and series such as “Llama a la Comadrona (Call the Midwife)”, “Pride and Prejudice”, “Wallander”, “Arriba y Abajo” and “The Game “, among other.
The other channel that reaches Spain is the iconic “Doctor Who”, which will have its own dedicated space on Samsung TV Plus with the different seasons and specials that have been broadcast to date. In the words of Richard Jakeman, European Head of Business Development at Samsung European Service Business Office:
The growth of Samsung TV Plus is directly related to the quality of the content. We are continually working to offer more to our customers, wherever they are. The addition of BBC Drama, Doctor Who, History and Travel extends our commitment to broad and varied programming.
58 free TV channels in Spain
How do we access these new channels and those that were already working? Well directly from the main menu of our Samsung televisions, since the service is pre-installed on models Samsung Smart TV from 2016 to 2021.
In addition, the service is also available for access through an application in Google Play and Galaxy Store that has been updated last month for new generation Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets with Android 8.0 or higher.
Regarding the total offer of channels available right now for Spain, there is a bit of everything, such as Euronews Live, Fuel TV, Planeta Junior, Qwest and multiple Rakuten channels. We can see the complete list from the service website or by downloading a PDF list from here.
For now already there are 58 free channels in our countryThis is a remarkable figure but is still far from other neighboring countries such as Germany, where the manufacturer already offers more than 100 free channels.
