Here are some ideas to make the task of caring for your child easier and more enjoyable.
Understanding a newborn takes time. You have to know if you are hungry or just want your pacifier, if your posture is uncomfortable or if you are simply not sleepy. The king of the house has numerous demands and only knows how to cry to ask for them; Dad and mom, it is often difficult for them to understand their language and that is a bit distressing. To help them, Parents and Children has prepared this mini-guide with the advice of our experts.
1. Newborns have a very small stomach, therefore, the amount of milk they need to drink is also low. The intervals between shots should be what your body requires. All pediatricians recommend breastfeeding on demand (with exceptions due to illness).
2. Many babies spit up after breastfeeding or bottle feeding. This is normal. There is no reason to worry, as it is usually not a lot. As a general rule, they only take out the milk they took in excess.
3. Sometimes the little one is not satisfied after suckling for a long time. This may be because it does not suck well: if you suck only the nipple you will not get much out. You have to make sure that the areola of the breast is also inside your mouth.
4. If you have twins, it is normal that at first, they cry more than other babies when they are hungry, since they have to wait their turn. You can place one child on each breast at a time and swap them on the next feeding. If they are bottle-fed, you can put them face-up, on a cushion, and give them to them at the same time.
5. Ideally, each twin should have their own feeding rhythm, eat on demand, that is, when requested. If a brother continues to sleep, it is best to leave him until he wakes up. Little by little they will be approaching their schedules.
Remember that during the first six months of the baby’s life, his ideal feeding, and exclusively, is breastfeeding.
