Google is constantly developing for its mobile operating system. Right now he is developing Android 11 and there is little left to see it officially. This does not mean that the company is not also thinking about the future. Today we know 5 things that will come to Android in future versions such as Android 12 or Android 13. All have been confirmed by Google itself, so we can expect them at some point in the coming years. Hopefully, most will come with Android 12.
Google is working on long screenshots
Manufacturers such as Samsung offer the possibility to make a long capture to the entire interface of the device. This is very useful for web pages or WhatsApp conversations. Well, Google also wants to implement this feature natively on Android. At the moment they are working on it and have confirmed that it will not be ready for Android 11. It is very likely that this long capture option will arrive next year with Android 12. If it does, the implementation for the rest of the manufacturers will be relatively simple.
Enhanced and device backups
Google is working on improving cloud backup for Android mobiles. The company knows that certain users with multiple devices may have space or order problems in the backups, so it is working to improve this aspect. In the future, several backups may be made, differentiating the data per device and with more space for application data. Again, we hope it arrives for Android 12.
Google wants to end the limitation of background applications
Android has good multitasking, but certain manufacturers have spent years implementing an application closure to improve performance and battery life on their devices. Google is not in favor of this, because it thinks that it lowers the level of experience with the operating system. The company has announced that it is talking to different manufacturers to offer other supports and that limiting the background or closing applications is a less used option.
Android gestures will improve in the future
The navigation gestures take some time between us and like almost all users. They are not perfect and Google knows it. For this reason, the company is working to implement improvements so that the experience is, at last, the best to which we can aspire. One of the main problems with today’s gestures is the gesture to go backwards and the gesture to display a hamburger menu. Google could make changes for the next version of Android.
Third-party launchers will enhance the experience
At the moment many third-party launchers for Android do not have a good experience because of navigation gestures. Many are not compatible and force you to use the virtual on-screen buttons. Google has confirmed that it is seriously working on improving this and that in future versions of Android the launchers will be much better integrated. We will see if this comes with Android 11, Android 12 or later versions.
These are some of the news and improvements that Google is working on to make Android a better operating system. The bad news is that there is little chance that any of them will be implemented in Android 11, so it will take a long time to see them in action.
What do you think of these improvements? What are you waiting for more?
