We present you 5 great campaigns that promote a more inclusive football, one of the most marked trends in these times.
Without a doubt, the issue of inclusion goes further and begins to be one of the most important agendas around the world and is part of different sectors, with fashion being the most recurrent.
However, little is said – little is known – about how sport is taking a more open stance on the issue of inclusion.
Doing so, of course, has not been an easy task and has required several years for there to be a greater participation of athletes, for example, non-binaries competing on the big stages.
The last edition of the Tokyo Olympic Games has been, by far, the most deeply rooted in the subject, since it is, until now, the Olympic fair that more athletes members of the LGBTQ + community has happened in history and it is certain that the next Olympics will be even more inclusive.
Now, that with respect to sport in general, what less is known about is how football is opening up to one of the most marked trends in recent years.
Historically, soccer has been a male-dominated sport; a sport classified, on many occasions, as macho and not very inclusive.
And it is that, for sure, one of the taboo topics within football is that of those players who are part of the LGBTQ + community, a reason that leads them to hide their sexual preferences while they are active and, once they retire, they feel free to freely express who they are off the pitch.
Now, all is not lost, because let us remember that also in the last edition of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, a historical event happened when it presented the first non-binary transgender footballer to win an Olympic medal.
That is why today we bring the best announcements that, in some way, promote a more inclusive football:
01. Nike – “The Land of New Football”
02. Nike – “Dream Future”
03. Toyota – “Toni”
04. Google – “Hans Rised”
05. Discrimination in the German Women’s National Team
