This is not the year for printers in Windows, no matter what version of Windows you are in, the problem is there. Microsoft has resolved some of the vulnerabilities related to printers, but, at the cost of compatibility issues. The bugs that were present in Windows 10 seem to have carried over to Windows 11.
Printers Fail in Windows 10 and Windows 11
There are three problems when working in Windows 10 and Windows 11. On the one hand, installing printers over network connections may fail in certain cases. Failure to download and install the necessary drivers.
This failure has been seen in devices that access printers through a print server, using HTTP connections. When a client connects to the server to install the driver, there is a bug in the directory that causes the drivers not to be downloaded. The solution is to install the drivers manually.
The second problem assumes that particular print properties are not provided to the print server. This is a problem that affects the print server and not direct printing.
This problem is the result of an incorrect creation of the data file that contains the printer properties. Clients who receive this data file will not be able to use the contents of the file and will instead continue with the default print settings.
Installing printers via Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) may not have been successful
It is possible that installing printers using Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) does not complete correctly.
Microsoft is working on a resolution for all the issues and is finalizing its release in a future update. It seems that security related to printers has caused a myriad of problems.
