At least two dead and three injured caused this Saturday the fire and collapse of a hot air balloon in the municipality of San Juan Teotihuacánin the State of Mexico, neighboring the capital, in the center of the country, reported state authorities.
The accident occurred in the early hours of this Saturday, practically, within the archaeological zone of the Pyramids of Teotihuacán, about 50 kilometers from the Mexican capital.
The first versions indicate that the balloon, belonging to a tourist services company, apparently without official permission, rose, It gained height and as the descent began, the basket where the travelers are staying began to catch fire and then came the collapse.

Witnesses indicated that, in desperation, the travelers began to ask for help, through cries of despair, moment in which a young woman jumped from the basket into the void.
Because it is a federal zone, agents from the Mexican Army and State Police and Civil Protection personnel from the State of Mexico arrived at the place where the bodies were left, as well as agents from the Expert Services who removed the bodies.
Hot air balloon trips are a common practice in this area of the State of Mexico where companies offer rides during the early hours of the day so that tourists appreciate the sunrise, the sunrise and a privileged panoramic view of the Teotihuacán Pyramids.
